Day 3 in Costa Rica was spent exploring Tamarindo, a cute surf town about one and a half hour away from our home base in Coco Beach. We had seen some nice homes located in Tamarindo on Air bnb so we considered this day trip as location scouting for our next visit to Costa Rica.
Tamarindo is a lot livelier and boasts a younger crowd than Playa Del Coco. My favourite part was watching the tanned surfer dudes and dudettes walk around in their bare feet, board in hand with messy wet hair floating in the wind. I secretly wish I was a cool surfer chick so hanging out in Tamarindo was kind of like playing make believe. Here are a few of the highlights we discovered in this hip area of Guanacaste.

Once our exploring in Tamarindo was finished, we headed back home and as the newly established tradition requires, we watched the sun set on the beach, drink in hand (mango smoothie for me, beer for dad). Café Del Playa is our favourite hang out in Coco Beach. The staff there is soooo nice and they have the best seats in the house for snapping some breath taking photos.

Love following your trips on The Red Fairy Project Gen!
Wish I was with you :).
Have a smoothie for me (with a tad of tequila to make it à la Jenn).

Aww, thanks Jenn! I love sharing my trips so I guess everyone is happy! ;) I shall have a smoothie in your honour but minus the tequila since I’m dry this month. Love ya! xx
