Release the worries that drag you down and take up so much mental space and energy. That conversation that didn’t go exactly as you would have liked? You can let it go rather than thinking about it over and over again. The person that you feel treated you rudely? Release them too. There’s no point carrying them around with you all day and playing the victim role.

It seems that we have thousands of thoughts that go through our mind in a day and that many of them are useless. These are often tainted with anxiety and we cause unnecessary stress for ourselves by rehashing them throughout our waking hours.

If you have to think about a decision, that is different than obsessing over the past or worrying about the future. If you must decide or plan something, set aside some time to do this rather than just randomly worrying about it during your “free time”. Remember that worry pretends to be necessary as the wise Eckhart Tolle says.

Your ego will convince you that you must think about whatever it is your fretting over, but if you put things in perspective you know it’s not worth so much of your precious energy.

Notice the difference between planning and worrying. Their energy is totally different and one makes you feel empowered while the other one leaves you drained. Be in the now and notice when your mind is running wild focusing on “potential problems” that might never happen.

Don’t let your anxious thoughts rob you of the gifts that the present moment has to offer you. Wishing you a wonderful day where you take little moments to pause and release all those worries that are weighing you down.

This is a great 2:27 mins video where Oprah and Eckhart Tolle address the impact of worry on the body and how to step out of a constant state of anxiety:

These two books have helped me tremendously to notice when I am stuck in worry, come back to the present moment and release a lot of unnecessary anxiety:
