We all need a little reminder to show kindness. Kindness towards others but towards ourselves as well. Kindness is like a magical ingredient that when sprinkled on any situation makes it better. Think of a difficult moment or problem you faced with someone this week. It can be a colleague or family member.
What if both of you had consciously chosen to bring more kindness to the situation? How could it have turned out differently? Now think of the first thoughts you had about yourself this morning. When you woke up, when you looked in the mirror. Could you be bringing more kindness to your inner dialog? We probably all can.
In the light of the recent tragedies, isn’t clear that we need to cultivate more kindness in this world? When we think in global terms it might feel overwhelming, like “little us” can’t make a difference. But there are millions of us and if we all choose to bring more kindness to the simple moments of our days, we will create a shift.
We will personally reap the benefits in our individual lives but we will also see changes starting to happen in the world. Think about kindness throughout your day today. Notice the variations of kindness levels in yourself and in others. See how more or less kindness creates different outcomes and then determine the outcomes you would like to see in your life and in the world around you.
