Like many people of my generation, I can be a total A.D.D. case sometimes. When it comes to learning about something that is outside my comfort zone (like finances) I get easily distracted, so reading majorly serious financial books is not a realistic approach for me (for now anyways). Fortunately, I’ve found a format that I enjoy to educate myself on becoming more money savvy: VIDEOS!

These aren’t just any type of financial videos, they are videos that are actually interesting and fun to watch. The older generation used to present financial information in a stuffy and boring way. Enter a younger and more dynamic group like the rock stars below and it’s a totally different game. Here are the top teachers I go to for my weekly dose of financial wisdom as well as my favourite clips from their channels.

MARIE FORLEO

I don’t really take advice from people unless they have proven that they know what they are talking about. Marie Forleo is a very successful life and business coach and she has some of the best experts on her show Marie TV. I apply many of the tips that Marie and her guests share and always enjoy the touch of humour present in her videos.

DENISE DUFFIELD THOMAS (A.K.A LUCKY BITCH)

With a name like that, you’ve got my attention. How do you keep it? By creating easy to digest content and offering tools that I can apply to my everyday life. Note that Denise often focuses on entrepreneurs as her main audience but there is still a ton of information that is extremely valuable even if you don’t run your own business.

KATE NORTHRUP

Kate Northup is the best selling author of Money a Love Story (a fascinating and non traditional financial book that I am currently reading and enjoying!) and her philosophy is:

IF YOU FREE YOURSELF FINANCIALLY, YOU CAN BE FULLY PRESENT TO FULFILL YOUR PURPOSE ON THE PLANET.

I love, love, love this and it’s a money mindset that totally resonates with my life values.  In addition to this, Kate went through her own financial challenges earlier in life so she’s not just some fancy expert presenting facts in a detached or condescending way. She touches topics that many of us face and guides us towards more awareness and healthy new habits.

AMANDA STEINBERG of dailyworth.com

I discovered Daily Worth via the Marie Forleo clip below. Amanda doesn’t have many videos on her channel for now but she makes guest appearances on others’ shows. If you do a quick search for her name on You Tube, you’ll find great clips where she’s asked the key questions that most women deal with around money. She’s a smart woman speaking to us as smart women that want to get their abundance on!

TONY ROBBINS

I can’t talk about money and personal growth without bringing up the legendary Tony Robbins. This larger than life motivational speaker has been making his mark for over 30 years and there’s a reason he’s still around: what he has to say is relevant and he teaches it in a way that nobody else does (can you say H I G H   E N E R G Y). Below are two amazing interviews he did with Marie Forleo and Lewis Howes, another one of my favourite life teachers.

That should leave you with several good options to explore over the next few weeks! Once you’ve watched some of the suggested videos, let me know if you start feeling a shift in your own money mindset. It’s fascinating to observe ourselves and notice when growth is occurring. It’s even more fun to discuss these positive changes with people that are also doing the work. Share with me below or post to the Red Fairy’s Facebook page!

I’ll sign off by sharing a powerful quote from one final video (below) that features Amanda Steinberg chatting it up with my fave spirit junkie Gabrielle Bernstein. It sums up exactly why I decided to focus on the subject of money on The Red Fairy Project:

IN ORDER TO RAISE OUR NET WORTH WE MUST RAISE OUR SELF WORTH

Our self worth impacts everything we do in life and it’s often linked to the struggles we go through. Part of the mission of this blog is to help amazing women such as yourself reach their full potential and that can’t be achieved without solid self confidence. Tackling money issues is just like any other aspect of personal growth: we will find the good, the bad and the ugly but no matter what, we must treat ourselves we kindness and care.
