Worry pretends to be necessary.” One of my all time favourite quotes by Eckhart TolleI’m sure as you start this week, you already have a million things on your mind. You might have a long to-do list for today and for days to come but you can only do one thing at a time so there’s no point in overwhelming yourself with thoughts about everything else.

There is a difference between worrying and planning and most of us let our mind constantly loop in the former.

Planning can be done by setting aside a specific time to map out what needs to get done and when we can do it. Worrying just means thinking about something over and over again without it accomplishing anything.

We can train ourselves to notice when we get lost in worry. When we are no longer in the present moment but are stuck in the past or the future.

We can observe our thoughts and decide to focus them on something that makes us feel more at peace. Focusing on the present, one moment at the time is the best practice to reduce the amount of worrying you do in a day.

Give it a try when you realize you are having stressful thoughts that aren’t leading to anything concrete. Consciously choose to refocus on what you are currently doing. Wishing you a wonderful day where you release worry one moment at a time and welcome in more inner peace.
