At some point or another, you’ve faced the fear of what others think of you. It might be a daily occurence or something that just happens from time to time. Whatever the reason or frequency of your fear, it can be paralyzing and extremely stressful.
This fear can even keep you from making certain decisions that are key to your happiness which is why I believe it’s a very important topic to tackle.
I’ve battled with the fear of what others think for a big part of my life. When I was younger it was literally handicapping. If I had to give a presentation or speak in front of a large group, I would be really self conscious. As I mention in the video below, I’ve also let this fear influence certain decisions in my life that brought me down a path that was not mine to take. Enjoy the video and if you would like a quick summary of the 4 mindset shifts that can help shake the fear of what others think, just scroll down this post.
The 4 mindset shifts that can allow you to let go of other people’s perception of you:
- Accept that you can’t control what other people think of you.
- Remember that only YOU know what will make you happy.
- Relying on the approval of others for your self worth is a slippery slope.
- Trying to be perfect or appear perfect is a major waste of your precious energy.
