Whether it’s the discomfort we feel in our muscles after a good workout that makes us stronger or mistakes made that allow us to grow to our full potential, pain can be a gift. Let’s not confuse pain with suffering which in my mind are quite different. Suffering is the choice we make in how we deal with the pain. In how long we drag it along.
We always have a choice in how we react to life’s challenges and we can either resist them and wish they weren’t happening to us or be open to the lesson they have to offer.
We can’t appreciate the happy moments without the darker ones and it’s how we choose to be during those lower days that will determine the life we have.
Let’s learn to breathe through the discomfort just as we do in yoga.
Let’s remember that as Eckhart Tolle says “What you resist will persist” so just observe the emotions and let them pass through you.
