Just in case you couldn’t tell by now, the boyfriend and I are obsessed with food. We are constantly talking about when we will be eating, what we will be eating and when we are done eating, we pretty much start thinking about the next meal. It’s a surprise we don’t both weigh 300 lbs. Every time I go to Europe, I know that my usual well-balanced regime will go out the window and that gluten and lactose free options will be few and far in between.
That said, I found the selection of healthy food to be excellent in Lisbon and this non meat eating gal could always find fresh fish (you must have the bacalhau) on the menu with a side of delicious veggies. Of course, I also indulged in desserts like Santini’s gelato and pastel de nata as well as copious meals. Of all the restaurants we discovered in Lisbon, 1300 Taberna in LX Factory was our favourite for several reasons. But before we dive into why, let me share a bit more about day 6 in Lisbon (ie. what we saw in between meals). ;)
Because our last day (7) would be in Sintra, we wanted to spend day 6 just enjoying all that Lisbon had to offer by exploring undiscovered corners of the city and taking in all its beauty one last time. Here are some highlights.

And now, it’s time to talk about… food! If you visit Lisbon, you MUST eat at 1300 Taberna. Yes, there are plenty of good restaurants in the city and with quite affordable prices, but there was something magical about Taberna.
I think a big part of why we loved it so much was the amazing service we received. Our sommelier was so passionate about his job and the experience he wanted to offer us that his joy was contagious. Robert and him discussed Port at great lengths as you can see from the photo below. In addition to this, the quality of the food was excellent and our meal was a real treat of the senses.

Our perfect evening ended with a delightful walk back to our apartment while taking in the gorgeous night time sights of the city. Romance was in the air and a bright moon lit our way home…
+ Come explore with us for our final day in Portugal: visit scintillating Sintra!
Oooohhh!!!
