“No matter what gets done and how much is left undone, I am enough.” When I read those words from Brené Brown last night, I felt such release and inner peace. These reassuring words honestly brought tears to my eyes because I often demand so much of myself that there this unsaid rule that if I don’t get everything done that I set out to do in my day, that I am a disappointment, that I’m not enough.
I know this might sound harsh to some but I know many of you can relate. We are driven women, we have goals and dreams. We get things done! All this is wonderful and perfectly normal but where it becomes unhealthy is when our self validation and self love relies on what we do in a day rather than who we are and the energy we brought to what we did.
Were we compassionate towards ourself and others? Did we bring forgiveness into the equation when needed? Did we choose judgment or love? It’s these “details” that matter rather than the items on our to-do list. Less is more. It’s time that we judge less (ourselves and others) and love more. Think of how you can integrate this mantra in your life this week. Wishing you a wonderful Monday!
