Done is better than perfect. Do you have projects that you never completed because you thought they wouldn’t be good enough? Or maybe you didn’t even start something because you were afraid you might failThis is a trap that us perfectionists can easily fall into and I can say that I’ve done both in my life and at the time I wasn’t even aware of it.

I’ve always seen my perfectionism as a quality. Something that allowed me to excel, but recently, I realized that perfectionism can also keep you stuck because it’s a form of fear. The fear of not being good enoughMany of us women put a lot of pressure on ourselves. We want to be the perfect mom, friend, boss, etc. We want the perfect body, to cook the perfect meal, to have the perfect home.

Let’s get this straight: perfection does not exist in the human world and trying to attain it is a waste of energy. Yes, we can strive for excellence, but we must also let ourselves off the hook and send ourselves unconditional love when we make mistakes or do something that doesn’t meet our high standards.

Done is better than perfect because at least it keeps you moving ahead and then maybe the next thing will be closer to excellence. Have compassion for yourself and also for others who do things for you. They might not be perfect but they are probably doing their best with what they know. Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
