Hi guys! I am settling back into a certain routine after spending the last two months in Europe, but if there is one place that I don’t like routine it’s with my meals. Who wants their breakfast to be the same old same old boring cereal and toast? Quinoa allows me to keep things exciting (and healthy) in the kitchen and this breakfast bowl recipe is the perfect treat to start the morning off right.

The base I use is often the same as it’s healthy and contains protein which is a must for me. I cook a cup of quinoa and sprinkle it with about 2 tablespoons of cinnamon. You can also use granola but if you do, make sure you include another source of protein like Greek yogurt.

Once you have your base you can mix in whatever ingredients you like like nuts, fruit, almond butter (so much healthier than peanut butter) or hemp hearts . Here are the ingredients I used in this morning’s breakfast bowl:

3/4 cup cooked quinoa sprinkled with cinnamon

1/2 cup pomegranate seeds

10 chopped almonds

1 teaspoon shredded organic coconut

1 teaspoon chia seeds

2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt (stick with plain as it contains less sugar than the flavoured kinds)

There you have it. Easy peasy!
