Do you waste a lot of precious energy reacting to how others treat you whether it’s a stranger cutting you off on the highway, a rude cashier or a family member that knows just what to say to push your buttons? The trick is to remember that we always have a choice in how we take those behaviours (if we choose drama or peace) and more importantly that how others treat us is a reflection of who they are as a person.

Our Ego can get flared up easily if we think someone disrespected us. It can convince us that we must defend ourselves but really that’s just feeding into the drama.

Of course, if we have someone in our life that tends to be disrespectful towards us a conversation should be had… or, you can simply decide that that person won’t be in your life anymore.

Let’s stop hurting ourselves by taking things personally. Let’s remember that everyone has their baggage and issues which influence their behaviour.

Let’s be strong enough that we don’t get sucked into the drama and feed into the negativity. Wishing you a peaceful Sunday when you start to learn to create a space between how others treat you and how you choose to react.
