I touch on gratitude on a regular basis because it was such a game changer for me. For the longest time I had been focusing on my “problems” or on what I thought was lacking in my life. I had been causing myself so much stress without even realizing it.
In addition to this I had been robbing myself of joy because I rarely took in the fact that I was extremely blessed.
It was only when I was a true moment of darkness in my life that I realized how lucky I really was.
Ironically it took suffering to notice all the gifts that were already right there and it’s thanks to that mindset shift, that breakthrough that I finally started to see the light.
Since then, I’ve never looked back and I’m so thankful I had that challenging period to eventually live my life in a very different way.
Sure, I have off days like everyone but it’s actually on those days that I try to focus on gratitude the most.
It’s when we are down in the dumps especially that gratitude can be that ladder that helps us climb out of the darkness. I start every morning and finish every day by being thankful for what life is offering me.
Whether it’s my health, a great meal, an amazing workout, fun times with friends, my breath or any other precious blessing, I make sure I acknowledge them every day.
