Trying to find a great gift for someone can be somewhat stressful, add to that the fact that many of us want it be purchased from a place of awareness (i.e. conscious gift giving) and you might feel like throwing in the towel. No need to get discouraged my dear Red Fairy readers, I have the best gifts ever for the holidays that will be sure to please that special someone on your list.
When I talk about conscious gift giving, for me this means putting our money towards a product or service that is well thought through. It can be from:
- A local company
- A talented artist
- An organization that gives back to those in need
- A brand that has sustainable practices
- A product that doesn’t harm the environment or our health
Why not spend our money helping make this world a better place at the same time as we put a smile on someone’s face with the perfect present? Here are some suggestions for the various types of people we all have in our lives. These are brands I truly believe in supporting and I also know they will make the gift recipient very happy as they are quality products or services.
THE BEAUTY BUFF

I’ve gushed about why I love Canadian natural beauty brand Crawford Street skincare here and giving one or many of their products is sure to please. From a $5 lip balm that can be a great stocking stuffer to a more luxurious gift set still at a very affordable price), Crawford Street has something for all budgets. Check out their gift suggestions page.
Druide foaming bath $11.59
I’ve been obsessed with the Druide Respire foaming bath for years and it’s one of my favourite for my self-care regimen. Druide is a Quebec company that offers a wide range of Eco certified products. I strongly believe that a book always makes a great gift and if you have a foodie in your life, an inspiring recipe book will surely thrill them. Here are my current favourites (there’s a mix of English and French suggestions).
Gluten free goodies from Pâtisserie Petit Lapin, from $11.90
Do you have a friend, colleague or family member that suffers from food allergies? Pâtisserie Petit Lapin is a Montreal bakery that offers products that are vegan, gluten free, lactose free, free of the ten priority food allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts (almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pine nuts, pistachio nuts and walnuts), sesame seeds, milk, eggs, seafood (fish, crustaceans and shellfish), soy, wheat, sulphites (a food additive) and mustard. THE WELLNESS WARRIOR
Tracy Campori Total Body Transformation monthly membership, $9.99/month

Oprah & Deepak 21 day Meditation Experience, from $39.99
Offering the gift of inner peace is probably one of the most valuable gestures you can make. Of all the meditations I have listened to, my favourites are the Oprah & Deepak 21 day Meditation Experience series (read why here). In their shop, you will see that there is a wide selection of products to choose from and the prices vary quite a lot too. If you get too overwhelmed I would suggest going with this streaming series.
THE STYLE LOVER
FEED bags and accessories, from $15
Lauren Bush founded FEED in 2007 with the mission to create products that would engage people in the fight against hunger in a tangible way. Every one of their products has a number stamped on it that signifies the amount of meals or micronutrient packets provided with its purchase. Shop and find out more about the amazing work that FEED does here.
Melo & Co. prints and gift cards, from $5.95
What better to make a home inspiring than by integrating gorgeous artwork such as this gold foil LOVE print? Melo & Co’s Melanie Louise Kazimierczyk is a talented artist based out of Toronto and I often feature her work on Instagram as the source of my daily inspirations. The first image you see at the top of this post is also from her and you can purchase those pretty gift cards here. The gold foil LOVE print can be purchased here.
So there you have it my little elves! I hope this gift list helps guide you in your Christmas shopping (yay for e-commerce!). Know that these wise purchases will benefit not only the gift receivers but they will also be supporting great companies and people. Happy holidays!
